** Gucci has recently re-released this style! **
For sale is a rare, vintage, Gucci, glossy burgundy leather and suede, unique, 1961 Jackie- O style, hobo style shoulder bag with a gold piston closure over a red and blue center stripe and its original extender strap! This purse is a beautiful vintage Jackie O style that is the perfect bag for today and is sure to turn heads!
Gucci has made the 1961 Jackie the 'IT' bag for this year by deciding to re-release it! The bag is the perfect Jackie O original by Gucci in the suede and leather version that everyone wants! It is the original, mod, Jackie O hobo style, from Gucci in glossy burgundy leather with the same color in suede with the coveted red and blue accent stripe down the center! The purse is a small to medium size. It has a gold piston closure and the original strap extender, so you can adjust the strap and make it longer! It is an early version of one of Gucci's signature styles!
The bag could use a cleaning, but is otherwise in amazing condition! The lining is made of a very beige fabric which, in my opinion, looks very lightly used! It has the true 1960's Gucci mod look! Embossed in the leather is 'Gucci, Made in Italy' on the interior center of the strap, and the piston closure is also engraved 'Gucci'. Inside, there is one compartment and the usual zip close pocket. It is the perfect size for everyday use!
Dimensions: 11" x 7" x up to 2" when full; Strap drop: 8" or 18" adjustable;
You will be the only person with this rare gem from Gucci! You could dress it up or wear it with jeans and it would look great! This is the only brown purse you will need! I have a several matching brown leather and logo, smaller and checkbook size wallets listed in other ads- it would be a set to keep and treasure forever!
I also have many other Jackie O styles, so take a peek! The only most obvious issue I see is that the buttery leather and suede are a bit dirty/ scratched- the photos were taken pre-polishing- and many of the shallow scratches smoothed right out. The gold hardware is tarnished/loosing its finish- see photos. None of these issues effect its wear ability or beauty and are to be somewhat expected of a 40 to 50 year old purse but need to be mentioned.
