Started in 1913 by brothers Mario and Martino Prada, Fratelli Prada was initially a leather goods shop that sold animal goods, English steamer trunks, and handbags. Despite his aversion to women in business, Mario’s daughter Luisa succeeded her father and ran the company for almost 20 years. Her daughter, Miuccia Prada also joined the company before taking up the torch in 1978 and beginning the brand's true evolution. With business partner, and later husband, Patrizio Bertelli. Miuccia revolutionized Prada throughout the 1980s, with some of the initial releases including the classic Prada handbag and women’s ready-to-wear collection. The designs swiftly became known for their sleek lines and sturdy craftsmanship with an air of luxury. Alla Moda Vintage features classic and beloved Prada shoes, handbags and accessories.
