For sale is a Gucci, 'Sarah flip top', mod look, large, chestnut brown leather, shoulder or handheld purse with removable strap, bamboo handle & equestrian accents! It has the 1960's classic mod style Gucci is known for and would be great used as your signature brown purse!
The bag is the perfect top handle purse by Gucci that is so great because it is a two-way style! The purse is a larger size and has a bamboo handle and removable strap! It is made of buttery soft, chestnut brown leather with gold horse-bit accents and a simple, snap top. There is a matching removable strap. It has the true 1960's Gucci mod look! I think this style is called the 'Sarah, flip top' bag- please tell me if this is or is not the case?
On the interior there is one main compartment with a back zipper pocket! The lining of the purses in this early bamboo line by Gucci had a leather upper lining (leather over fabric). The leather would get sticky and begin to peel, shed, and stick to you belongings, which is why the Gucci serial number looks to have a coating over it. I had the sticky leather upper professionally removed to reveal the soft ivory felt below, completely breathing new life into it! Now, in my opinion, the interior looks very lightly used! The purse has a serial number of 001.1705.1638.
Measurements are 10.5" x 12" x 4" ; Handle drop: 8" / strap drop: 17"
This is a true vintage find! Please note bag is vintage and there are minor signs of use- see pictures. You will be the only person with this rare gem from Gucci! You could dress it up or wear it with jeans and it would look great! This is the only black purse you will need! DON'T MISS OUT! I have this 'Sarah flip top' style in dark green suede/leather, and black leather/suede, and different sizes listed in other ads!
